Put them pictures on SLIDE

I like taking pictures and displaying them. There are quite a few sites online that allow people to upload their pictures and display them in a variety of different ways. One of them that I reviewed sometime back is Photobucket. While I love Photobucket, I really loved working on Slide.

Vish doesn't like sites where sign up is required, but I do. After the initial trouble of signing up we are brought to an easy to use screen. Slide works much faster than Photobucket when it comes to uploading images.

I used Slide to send some friends a few pictures from my visit to Dublin and they said that it loaded quickly on their systems. I loved the quick replies I got from them and it was amazing how viral the use of this tool.

This can be easily added to any social networking site and have your pictures slide. They have also come up with some neat applications like funPix where you can add backgrounds, glitter, tag lines etc, another cool application is the youtube frames or as slide calls it SkinFlix. Love it!

I played around with a few of their tools myself. Check them out.

This is my favorite picture - A New Possession by Gerald Waller. I used a classic frame and nothing else for this one. Picture Perfect this one!

Vlad Studio Slide show - my favorite digital artist. Way to go Vlad.

This is my own skinFlix - the video you see is my friend who was on the Limca book of records for the fastest onion chopper.

Bionic Arm: Terminator T800 comes to life, in parts

Posted by Fzkl | 12:05 AM | Wednesday, August 8 | | 1 comments »

Remember the day you were awed by the bionic arm of T800 in Terminator, T800 played by Arnold Schwarzenegger? I wondered back then if technology would really advance far enough in my life span to for me to be able to see such a device. I wished I could. And now its coming to fruition.

DARPA, the defense research wing of US Military has been researching artificial prosthetics for many years now and they are finally unveiling the world's most advanced bionic arm this week at the DarpaTech 2007 Conference. This will be one of the few technologies where military budget pays off by technology migrating to the consumer sector. Imagine a handicapped man being able to live a normal life with a bionic arm better or as good as the real one? I hope I don't have to way to see the day when people voluntarily have themselves amputated for a more powerful bionic arm. While we wait for that, enjoy this video. And I almost forgot to mention: The arm is controlled by human thought!
